Philadelphia Flyers julkaisi maanantaina täysin uuden maskotin ja lopputulos oli vähintäänkin erikoinen.

Iso, oranssi ja karvainen olento nimeltään Gritty kannattaa Flyersia jatkossa.

Uusi, pelottavan näköinen maskotti aiheutti fanien joukossa paljon hilpeyttä ja vitsailulta ei säästytty. Osa vertasi Grittyn ulkomuotoa Flyersin tähtihyökkääjään Jakub Voracekiin, kun taas osa löysi maskotilta samoja piirteitä kuin Flyers-ikoni Scott Hartnellilla.
